Many families rely on the familiar when they are picking a vacation destination. Places like Disneyland and Hawaii see their fair share of tourists each year. When it comes time to pick a place to take your family this summer, why not consider Venezuela?
Venezuela is in South America and is often overlooked as a place to visit. Many people flock places like Cuba when they decide to venture south. Although this too is a great place to spend a few days or weeks, Venezuela has its own charm as well.
Planning a vacation to Venezuela has never been easier. All one has to do is log onto one of the many discount travel sites to find several different Venezuela vacation packages.
It's important to consider when you want to fly to Venezuela. There are two very distinct seasons in Venezuela; the summer season which runs from May through November and the winter season which occurs from December right through to the end of April. The summer season is probably the time when you'll want to visit as the nicest and calmest weather is found during this time. During winter you'll be expected to contend with many rainy days and cooler temperatures.
Once you've decided on when you'll be taking your trip to Venezuela you'll then need to decide on where you'll be going. There are six different regions and depending on what you enjoy, you'll probably want to visit at least two, if not more.
Caracas is the capital city of Venezuela and one of the more popular places for tourists to visit. Caracas is much like any large metropolitan city. You can find wonderful dining and cultural experiences there. If you love art, you'll not want to miss visiting one of the many museums in Caracas. Many people opt for a stay in Caracas because of all of the amenities, and they take advantage of day trips to area beaches and resorts. This is a great way to enjoy your evenings in comfort while exploring during the day.
If you love mountains than you'll want to visit the Canaima region, which is home to some of the most majestic mountain ranges in the world. In this area you can spend all day outdoors soaking up the warm climate and beautiful scenery. There are several spectacular waterfalls found here as well including one of the tallest in the world. Those who enjoy flowers will be amazed by all the different types of orchids that are found naturally here.
Water lovers will want to stay closer to Margarita Island. As the name suggests this is a region filled with fun. You can find some of the most beautiful waters in the world here and it's an oasis for those who enjoy scuba diving and snorkeling. For the novice diver they'll embrace the opportunity to take lessons by seasoned natives. This is one area of Venezuela that everyone who visits, should try to enjoy.
One of the selling points of Margarita Island is that it is a duty-free zone. This means that tourists can pick up their souvenirs without having to face duty taxes. This is the only area of Venezuela where this occurs.
Those visiting Venezuela can find something they are sure to enjoy, whether you want to be near the mountains or scuba diving with the local marine life.
