The Costa Blanca is one of the most popular tourist areas in Spain. The beautiful weather and beaches attract millions to the region every year. Although the summer is the busiest travel season, the area has beautiful weather all year round.
The northern Costa Blanca starts at the base of the mountains in Denia and Javea. The region runs down the Mediterranean Coastline to Torrevieja in the south. There are large cities and small villages to visit all along the region.
Traveling to the Costa Blanca
Most travellers take a flight into the Alicante airport when visiting this region. The tourist traffic is heaviest in the summer months. If you plan to travel in summer, be sure to book your flight, hotel and car hire well in advance. You will get the best deals with the most availability by planning ahead.
Once you arrive at the airport, you have several choices for travelling to your destination. A car will give you the most freedom. However, if you prefer not to drive you have other options. Buses and taxis can take you to the train station or any of the towns surrounding the airport. The train system is efficient for travelling from city to city during your visit.
