What is really good is being able to retreat to the private deck anytime if there are outsiders on the beach.
Local restaurants are another key to a successful self catering holiday in St Lucia or anywhere else for that matter. In this respect Villa Beach Cottages and Castries doesn't disappoint either. Not to be missed is the Coal Pot near Castries, and Edge near Rodney Bay, where you will eat very well.
To get around then you really must use the local bus, which arrives about every two or three minutes, and one of the delights about this very cheap way of getting about is being able to interact with the very friendly locals living their everyday lives. There would be sense in hiring a car.
