Last days of feverish work for the opening of the 22nd Lignano in Fiore, festival for and of the children of all Friulian seaside resort. The longevity of this festival shows the affection of all inhabitants to events that have children as protagonist.
For two weekends, from the 25th of April to the 4th of May, the green lung of Lignano, the Hemingway Park will be invaded by tourists and residents that want to enjoy days in the open air, surrounded by a lot of happiness and by the opportunity to help the present charitable associations.
As the name suggests, the main features of this festival are flowers and plants and the joy that they bring. Colours and scents spread all over the park, giving the sensation of being in a magic atmosphere, where children and their smiles are the centre of the festival.
This event draws every year more and more visitors, that take advantage of these weekends to spend the first days in the seaside resort on the upper Adriatic Sea, walking on the beach and warming themselves in the hotter and hotter sun. For this reason, besides the ferment for the imminent opening of the coloured Festa dei Fiori (Flowers Festival), many hotels and apartments in Lignano make the finishing touches to give the opportunity to tourists to stay in the city during these long weekends.
Pineta and Sabbiadoro are the most requested districts by guests: the first is characterized by the ancient, green, fresh and peaceful pine wood, where the Hemingway Park is immersed. The second zone is the historic centre of Lignano and the centre of the seaside resort's life, near the golden beach.
During the weekends of the 25th of April and of the 1st of May tourists can take relaxing walks on the beach with the amusing and coloured afternoon in the park. Lignano in Fiore offers tourists in the seaside resort a full programme of events in the open air, under the characteristic pagoda in the centre of the park, that is dedicated to the famous American writer Ernest Hemingway, who called Lignano "The Florida of Italy".
Shows of city sports clubs, concerts, animation, puppet theatre for children, but also a lot of opportunities for domestic animal lovers. Every year the Lignano in Fiore organization dedicates a day to the four-legged friends with dog agility demonstrations and competitions, walks and shows of dogs with their masters. Often they are children that seize the opportunity to play with their pets in a big park.
The attention for animals has every year more and more important role: a lot of people have a domestic animal and they are in difficulty when they must go on holiday. The bigger difficulty is to find an accessible accommodation also to their four-legged friend. Particularly the seaside resorts feel about this problem, so the local government of Lignano decided to reserve a stretch of beach to dogs and their masters in Riviera, the western end of the city, near the mouth of the Tagliamento river.
In the same wake are moving several travel and tourist agencies in Lignano, like the Eureka, that works from years in letting holiday flats in the seaside resort. The agency owners offer to their guests that come on holiday with a dog or a cat about ten apartments in Lignano where the domestic animals are allowed. These apartments are located in peaceful areas in Sabbiadoro, the city centre, and are equipped with garden and all modern services: air conditioning, modern furnishing, TV or TV-SAT, dishwasher, safe, car place and beach material included in the price. So tourists can spend a comfortable holiday with their pets in an apartment in Lignano Sabbiadoro, near the beach and few minutes from the Hemingway Park.
A park where dogs can run and play, a private beach and accommodation in modern apartments in Lignano: the seaside resort is the right place for people that don't want let the four-legged friend at home.
