The City by the Bay attracts several tourists everyday that come to San Diego for different reasons. For each guest, there is a hotel that caters to their needs depending on what they want. As the second largest city in California, San Diego attracts its fair share of tourists. It lies directly on the coast and boasts of beautiful beaches that has sprung a surfing community, a booming economy and a thriving tourism. The boom in tourism is due in part to the attractions of San Diego like Coronado Beach, Mission Bay, SeaWorld Adventure Park, Giant Dipper Roller Coaster and the Balboa Park. Another reason for the continuous growth of tourism is the availability of accommodations, which make visitors feel welcome in San Diego. One hotel that embodies the fun-loving and adventurous spirit of San Diego is the Hard Rock Hotel in San Diego. Located at 207 Fifth Avenue, this recently opened hotel is just along the route of the familiar San Diego trolley. Only 3 miles from the San Diego International Airport, guests can easily reach the hotel by taxi or by availing of the complementary airport transfer. There are several kinds of rooms available at the hotel designed to handle the needs of different kinds of guests. Those looking for a simple yet luxurious time will be happy with the Studios. These rooms have halo-illuminated beds, 300-thread count linens, state-of-the-art lighting, greenroom standard mini bar refreshments, and custom-designed desks. It also comes with its own full bath that has rain showers mounted on the ceilings. It also has 42" LG flatscreen HDTVs, wireless internet access, video on-demand, video games and jack pack technology that enables guests to hook their MP3 player, video camera or laptop directly to the media hub. Hard Rock Suites offer the same amenities as the Studio with the bonus of a conjoined living room, while the Rock Star Suites are 17 individually designed rooms that provide guests with an all-out VIP experience. The special Rock Star Suite designed by San Diego natives, the Black Eyed Peas, is called the Peapod Foundation Suite. The Suite is meant to bring attention to the bands' charity for children, The Peapod Foundation. Another good San Diego Hotel is the Sheraton San Diego Hotel and Marina located at 1380 Harbor Island Drive. Situated at the edge of the San Diego Bay, the Sheraton has 1,044 guest rooms and suites. 698 of the rooms are in the marina Tower and 346 in the Bay Tower. It also has over 120,000 square feet of space assigned for private and business functions. Hotel facilities include jogging trails, a spa, tennis courts and three swimming pools. This premier hotel also offers a sweeping view of both the city skyline and the San Diego Bay. The Sheraton San Diego hotel and Marina is only 10 minutes away from tourist spots like Old Town, Balboa Park and the San Diego Zoo. One waterfront resort in San Diego is the Humphreys Half Moon Inn and Suites. It is located on Shelter Island, about 3 miles from the San Diego International Airport.
