With so many people in the workforce, knowing what not to wear at work can be as important as knowing what is acceptable and what should be avoided at all costs. There are few people that can claim to give you with 100% certainty what is perfect for your working garments. The varieties available are as varied as the types of garments you can find out there today. This means that the best person to go to for finding the perfect working apparel is looking you in the mirror every morning. Knowing your job and the needs is going to be the first step in knowing what not to wear at work. Take a look at these ideas of what to avoid. Do you work in a medical or healthcare industry? If you answered yes, you should avoid a few things. For one, avoid footwear that is not white or black. In addition, your footwear should be a vinyl or nylon type finish. Your footwear will take a beating and get dirty. This will insure your footwear can be cleaned easily and go with more of your scrubs or nursing dresses. Of course, you will also want to avoid baggy clothes. Baggy is going to be as bad as too tight. This is tasteless and will get you in trouble when it snags on machinery or dips into a patient during an operation. Do you work in a foundry? Foundries are a dangerous place. You will not want to come dressed in your street clothes. Yes, many of the style look like street clothes, but the reality is that these are designed for heavy duty production from arc flashes, heat, and more. These styles can include something as simple as flame resistant pants and a shirt or as complicated as a full body arc flash protective body suit. Do you work in the restaurant industry? Chance are good you need something that looks top notch that will not get into the items you are serving. You will want to avoid such designs as baggy pants, large shirts, and other non-professional garments. Looking your best is important especially if you happen to be a front of the house employee. Even chefs need to look their best. Wearing a simple t-shirt and jeans will generally not suffice. Do you work in the housekeeping industry? Well, you will not want to wear your everyday clothes. You are going to get dirty, and you need to be recognized by your clients as being an employee of the company. Wear a recognizable uniform such as a housekeeping dress, or follow the dress code of your employer. Looking great means you get to save your everyday clothes for other personal purposes. When it comes to what not to wear at work, you will find finding what is great and what is not so great has never been easier. You get to choose from designs specifically for your industry while encouraging great working etiquette. Simply understand and recognize the dress code when it comes time to get ready to head to your place of employment.
