When it comes to stain tips, you will find a variety of unique and curious suggestions for getting out the most unusual of stains. Form mustard to shoe polish, there are idea on how to safely, and hopefully successfully, get that pesky spot or spill from getting into the fibers of your favorite shirt, pants, shoes, or outerwear. Regardless of how many ideas and nifty tricks you read, sometimes, you will need a professional cleaner to get that stain out. As a dry cleaner once told me, it is easier to get stains out that have not been treated. If you have a spot, spill, or splash on your favorite evening dress, you may want to consider talking to a dry cleaner as soon as possible rather than try to treat the spot yourself. In addition, you should not wait months or years before deciding to get that spot treated. The faster you act, the easier it is to remove that pesky spot. Have you ever been at the office and gotten white out on your favorite button down shirt? To remove white out, you will want to use acetone or good old fashioned fingernail polish remover. Sponge your shirt with acetone, tap the acetone into the garment with a spoon or a brush. When you are done, rinse with a solution of one part water and one part alcohol – not the drinking kind. You should find you have saved your favorite work shirt from an unattractive white spot. Has your favorite work coat or work jacket ever gotten a little scorched? There is hope as long as it was only a minor burn. Using an eye dropper, saturate the scorched area with 3% hydrogen peroxide. You will then add a couple drops of ammonia. Let the stand from 10 minutes to an hour. Make sure the garment stays moist with the tiny bit of ammonia with hydrogen peroxide. After the hour is up, rise with water. If you do not have a nice, clean garment, chances are good the scorch or burn was to extensive and should be replaced. Have you ever noticed you had unexplained lipstick stains on your collar? Well, there is an easy way to insure even the most stubborn lipstick stains come out lickity split! Use either a grease remover or one of the dry cleaning solvents available at most retail stores. Soak a sponge or other type of absorbent pad with this cleaner. Blot the spot. Do not scrub or rub because you may just spread the lipstick stain. There are a lot of stain tips out there, and this is an easy one that helps a lot of people! You will continue blotting until the lipstick is not visible, but there is more. You can also use a light detergent mix with half vinegar for the blotting. You will be able to rinse with water and dry. Viola! No more lipstick stains. When you work hard, it is important you know how to keep those stains at bay. Just a few stain tips can go a long way in adding longevity to your favorite work apparel.
