Few people actually enjoy doing the laundry. Separating the clothes, washing, drying, folding, and ironing are all part of the process by which insures our clothing is looking its best. While enjoying this process may not be a favorite pastime, it is definitely a necessary process we all must endure. Laundering does not have to be difficult. When it comes time to launder your safety shirts, here are seven things you should not do unless you enjoy looking and feeling uncomfortable and unprofessional. Use the cheapest laundry soap you can find! Let's face it. There are many types of detergent or laundry soap out there, and each claims to be better than the one before. When you get to the grocery store, you will find an array of prices and all those brands making big promises. The best one for your clothing is not going to be the cheapest of the cheap. Purchase high quality laundry soap and your safety shirts will thank you. Don't separate the colors and the whites! This is an important part of the washing process. Whites do not go with your hot pinks, and your hot pinks do not go with your denims. Separate whites into a white pile. While you put whites together, denims together, and your linens together. You want to get more out of your work wear, right? Then take a few minutes to separate your clothing. Wash your personal protection equipment with your household clothes! Maybe it takes more time to wash your work wear separately from your household clothes, but it is important to separate all of your laundry. Often, your work wear or household clothing will have stains or mystery spots that you do not, under any circumstances, want to get onto the other type of laundry. Staying safe means you separate your working laundry from your household laundry. Let your laundry sit in the wash overnight! Well, leaving the laundry in overnight is just plain gross. Mildew, germs, and bacterium starts to relish the warm, moist environment finding a home in your work wear. Yuck! Just toss the laundry in the dryer before you head to bed to kill these nastys before they start. If you cannot put your laundry in the dryer before heading to bed, just wait until later to do the laundry. Follow the manufacturer's instructions! Wait, did I say "follow the manufacturer's instructions"? Shouldn't you be following those instructions closely? In most cases the answer is a resounding yes, but there are times when doing so will ruin your safety shirts. If you have customization or personalization on your work wear, do not follow the manufacturer's direction on laundering your clothes. You will ruin the customization. Fold all of your laundry! Sometimes it is perfectly okay to fold all of your laundry, but when it comes to personal protection equipment, you should hang that apparel up. You will find folding causes weak spots in the garments. This is not always noticeable in household clothes, but when it comes to these safety shirts, you want to insure they continue offering you a safe experience day after day.
