Frequent and constant headaches make depression much harder to deal with, because the depressive will already be trying to cope with various other symptoms. Sleeping difficulties: Depression is commonly accompanied by sleep problems, sufferers may find that they begin to sleep excessively, or alternatively they may not be able to get sufficient sleep. If the sufferer experiences the latter then the effects will be felt throughout the following day, they will feel constant tiredness and this can add to the negative emotions that they are already feeling. Joint pain: Generally people can suffer from joint page at any point in their lives, although it tends to affect the elderly most. If depression causes it's sufferer to develop joint pain it is usually more intense and painful then when a person without this condition suffers from it. It's as if the condition has amplified the pain. This physical effect of depression can evidently cause great discomfort, making it one of the most undesirable physical effects to experience. Fatigue: this is another common physical effect of depression, when an individual suffers from fatigue they feel tired regardless of how much rest or sleep they have had during the night. This symptom can make depression worse because the constant tiredness can make a person feel negative and downbeat. As you can see the physical effects of depression seem very mundane for example headaches, fatigue and joint pain are common ailments that people suffer from everyday. As a result of this they are not always recognized as the symptoms of depression, meaning an individual may simply overlook these symptoms. In fact sometimes doctors don't realize that these are a symptom of depression. However, now that you understand and are aware of some of the physical symptoms of depression you have a higher chance of recognizing them. If you or someone you know suffers from a combination of these symptoms you or they are strongly advised to seek medical advice. In most cases a doctor will be able to properly diagnose the condition causing the symptoms. If you are experiencing them as a result of the physical effects of depression then your doctor will be able to point you in the direction of the most effective type of treatment, depending on what form of depression you may have developed.
