When Mike Holmgren announced that he would be retiring after the 2008 season, no one was quite sure what that meant for the Seattle Seahawks. Prior to the 2008 season, most though it would mean that someone would have to take over the dominant Seahawks and keep their winning streak going. The team had made the playoffs for the last few years and was hopeful for another similar season. That was not the case, however, as the Seahawks finished 4-12. Now looking at rebuilding their program, the Seahawks administration has started looking toward revamping their coaching staff. They have made strides recently, hiring Casey Bradley as the defensive coordinator, Greg Knapp as the offensive coordinator and Dan Quinn as the defensive line coach and assistant head coach. Fans can see them all next season with Seattle Seahawks tickets from http://www.stubhub.com/seattle-seahawks-tickets. Casey Bradley spent the last three seasons as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebackers coach. Under his watch, the Bucs' defense has continued to blossom and put up impressive stats. The position with the Bucs was Bradley's first in the NFL. As a player, he was a free safety and a punter for North Dakota State. He started coaching as the graduate assistant for his alma mater from 1990 to 1991. From there, he became the defensive coordinator and linebackers coach at Fort Lewis College. He was promoted to head coach in 1995 before returning to NDSU to be a defensive coordinator and assistant head coach. He will be the replacement for John Marshall. Greg Knapp is no stranger to the NFL as he has been coaching in the league for 13 seasons. He was a quarterback as Sacramento State University and spent a few years with different NFL teams' training camps. He became a coach at SSU in 1986, where he stayed until 1994, moving from running backs coach to wide receivers coach to offensive coordinator and assistant head coach. He moved into the ranks of the NFL when he took a job as the quality control assistant with the San Francisco 49ers in 1995. He became the quarterbacks coach in 1998 before moving to the offensive coordinator position in 2001. Knapp became the offensive coordinator for the Atlanta Falcons from 2004 to 2006 before taking the same position with the Oakland Raiders. He is taking the place of the Seahawks' former offensive coordinator, Gil Haskell. Dan Quinn will be joining the staff and rejoining Jim Mora, who he had previously worked with in San Francisco. Quinn was one of a few coaches considered; another was former Detroit Lions coach Rod Marinelli. Quinn was the defensive line coach at Hofstra University from 1996-2000 and was also the defensive coordinator in 2000. He moved to a position with the Niners from 2001 to 2004 before being hired as the Miami Dolphins' defensive line coach. He spent this last season as the New York Jets' defensive line coach. There is still more staff to hire for the Seahawks as the only confirmed returning coach is Mike Solari, offensive line coach.
