Dogs that bark too often are a problem faced by many pet lovers. Neighbors even get into the picture because their moments of silence and rest are disturbed by your pet. In as much as you would want to defend your dog, such cases must be dealt with and not taken for granted. The best recourse is to train your dogs to control their noise. Bark control devices can help you in this task.
There are certain instances that the barking is caused by a particular situation. If the situation can be discovered and subsequently removed, then the need for bark control may be avoided. You can try to be with your dog as often as possible in order keep him calm at all times. You can also provide him with something to do, one that keeps his attention and does not involve barking. The bottom line here is that as an owner, you have to understand where and why barking occurs. If the issue cannot be isolated, then bark control enters the picture.
Noisy Indoors
Some dogs bark loudly and too often whenever they are inside. If the reason cannot be traced, you can resort to using an indoor bark control gadget. These device has an audio sensor that detects the bark immediately and quickly sends an ultrasonic frequency to discourage your pet from barking again. It is ideal on areas where your dog often stays and barks the most. The device is perfectly safe for humans and other pets since the frequency is inaudible except to dogs.
Barking Outdoors
When dogs bark outside, it is often to a particular thing or event. If the event cannot be avoided such as cars passing by, you will have no choice but to place an outdoor bark control. The device works the same way as an indoor one but has wider range of up to 50 feet. It is designed to withstand the elements and looks like a decorative outdoor piece in the process.
Remote Ultrasound
If you are training your dog to control his barking, you can use a ultrasonic remote trainer to have more control as to when to turn on the ultrasonic frequency. As a bark control device, it can play a positive note and a negative one, depending on the behavior of your dog. This is also perfect for dogs that become too loud in public areas. Just be careful when using the remote as its 30-feet range can affect other dogs in the vicinity.
Bark Control Collar
If your pet has been barking uncontrollably whether indoors or outdoors without any particular reason, you can have him wear a collar that sends mild static correction every time he barks. An audio sensor triggers the correction to occur immediately while detecting the barking noise. As an assurance to owners, the static correction, much like the ultrasound devices, is meant to grab attention to your pet and not to punish him. The correction levels can be adjusted depending on the dog's size and initial reaction. Once you see a significant improvement, you can already remove the collar and try other training methods.
