Why an Invisible Dog Fence is All Worth It

Dogs can be very difficult to handle sometimes. They can be around your neighborhood, destroying other people's properties and might even be involved in an accident. This is one reason why many dog owners now consider getting their own invisible dog fence. They have found that it has been effective in teaching their pets to stay within a specific area. If you are an owner contemplating about getting your own invisible dog fence, here are some reasons to seal the deal: It is easy to install. An invisible dog fence only comes with a few components: a transmitter, receiver, and some boundary flags. For the transmitter to work, you only have to plug it in a normal outlet. Suitable locations for the transmitter are not hard to find either, as long as there are no metal objects to interfere with the transmission. You can place it near a window or better yet in the attic to maximize the range. From the setup to tuning process, it will only take an hour or two without breaking a sweat. It fits in any property size. The transmitter can create an invisible dog fence from as little as 10 feet to as large as 180 feet in diameter. This makes it ideal for a property that has front yard wide enough for a dog to play with or for an entire estate for a pet to run free. Adjustments are also very easy since you only have to deal with only two switches. One sets the boundary to be either high or low, and another one makes the finer adjustments. The system is safe. When the dog nears a boundary zone, boundary flags can be clearly seen. Once he enters the zone, he is first given a warning sound, so he can move back to the play area. If he is unable to move, a very mild static correction will be delivered by the receiver. Note that the correction is meant as a consequence and not as a direct punishment. The receiver can also be tweaked to ensure that the dog will feel comfortable when wearing the receiver. As a precaution, only dogs that already get simple commands and those weighing more than seven pounds should be wearing the receiver. It is portable. A similar system of invisible dog fence is currently available, which runs wires along your property to create a custom-shaped boundary. Unfortunately, it clearly cannot be brought to another house or during visits to the park like transmitters do. They are very light and don't take up too much space, so they can pretty much be carried to any location. You can use your car to power them up, and will not harm any other animal or person for that matter since only the dog wearing the receiver will detect a signal. It is a training system. As effective as it is in containing your dog, an invisible dog fence becomes most effective when it is paired with a training program for your dog. Most products come with a manual on how to create a schedule of trainings that will gradually introduce your dog into an idea of allowed spaces. This way there will be appoint where you don't have to tie him a leash or use other means to keep them at bay.
