Many women are asking 'can pregnant women take claritin allergy medicine?' The short answer is 'no'. Everything and pregnant women ingests will pass through the placenta and into the baby's body. Please read that sentence again. Anything you put in your mouth is like putting it in the growing baby's mouth. Any women carrying a baby needs to think very carefully about what she eats or takes for medications.
Ask a doctor can pregnant women take claritin allergy medicine and he say yes. Please remember that the doctor will base that answer on existing research that he or she is aware of. There may be research proving the harm Claritin can do to the baby, but the doctor is not aware of it. Or even worse, perhaps Claritin does indeed harm a baby in the womb; however scientific research has not yet found the research to support the claim.
Also, be aware if a doctor says that pregnant women can take claritin allergy medicine because a study showed that it did no harm. That study maybe only looked at Claritin's effect on X,Y and Z. We still don't know if it harms P, D and Q. So, the simple answer to can pregnant women take claritin allergy medicine is a resounding 'no'.
What does a pregnant woman do for her allergies?
What should be done if pregnant women can not take Claritin allergy medicine? What many doctors do not know is that there are very effective natural remedies for treating allergies. Furthermore, these remedies can actually be healthy for the fetus as well.
First of all, allergies can be caused and/or aggravated by a poor diet heavy in processed un-natural foods high in sugar. Remember also that sugar in all its forms can aggravated allergies. For example, drinking a glass of orange juice, what we normally think of as being healthy, is actually bad for allergies because the sugar content is too high.
Stay Away From Sugar
This has nothing to do with being on a diet or losing weight. The long and short of it is sugar in all its forms weakens the immune system. If you are prone to allergies, you are not giving your immune system a chance to attack your allergies and eliminate them. Furthermore, allergy bacteria feed off of sugar. So if you have allergies and drink Pepsi everyday or eat Ding Dongs, then you are strengthen the severity of your allergies, while at the same time weakening your immune system's ability to defeat it. It's a lose-lose battle for you and your baby, and more so if you end up taking medication.
In addition to staying away from sugar, eat has many fresh foods as possible. Processed foods contain chemicals which are bad for you and your baby.
Maintain A Healthy Digestive System
Finally, every pregnant mother should be talking probiotics 3 times a day. Probiotics are the opposite of antibiotics and they flood your digestive system with the health bacteria that your body needs to be healthy.
