AMWAY: What You Need to Know

Amway is yet another multilevel marketing company that specializes in the distribution of products for direct selling. Their products range from personal care products, cosmetic products, to home care products, electronics, jewelry, dietary supplements and even purifiers. Amway has been around since 1959 when Jay Van Andel and DeVos established the company. Having been around for a long time gives Amway a positive stance in the market. Generally, consumers feel that a product or a service or a company who has been in the market for a long time can be trusted. That is the explanation why "since 1959" put under a brand name is appealing. Amway is indeed a household name because their products are what an individual or a household can use daily. Amway is not only a household name but also famous among other companies as well because they have products that these companies will use in their operations. At first, the design of the marketing plan is to have profit via simply selling Amway's products. Here it is seen that an Amway affiliate sells products to his or her family and friends. Profit simply rolls in through selling the products. However, as its marketing tool became network marketing, the profit is now acquired not as easy as before. "Real" profit is generated when an Amway dealer creates a down line of distributors. This dealer will then have "percentage" or "commission" per distributor that is under her line. This is primarily the reason why Amway members become so persistent in "recruiting" their family members and friends to join the Amway network. When in the past, selling their products is what a member will do, now, a member is selling the mere marketing strategy. In addition, Amway has a policy for an affiliate to sell at least 70% of their monthly purchases before they can be able to acquire some bonus payments. On top of this, these 70% worth of products should be sold to ten different people. This gives the distributor pressure to pressure his or her down line as well. Another pressure put on the shoulders of the distributor is the fact that the products should be well-kept to maintain its highest quality. Most of the affiliates do not have enough space for these products other than their houses. Their products are always in deep danger and risks. Of course, no consumer would want to buy worn-out or dilapidated products. These are some reasons why the Amway selling is not for the fainthearted or the lenient marketing person. It requires devotion, passion, belief and commitment from the member. Otherwise, if one's down line is lenient, the dealer will have to pay for the products to reach their quota- this is another pressure. Though there are no questions about their products which generally the consumers say are quality products, there have been complains about Amway's practices. Some claim that Amway has broken some MLM rules (if they are called rules). Among them are complains that some of the distributor's commissions or percentages are kept and are not disclosed to the member. The good however is that Amway has no registration fee. Someone simply signs-up and is assessed by the Amway people. So if someone wants to join Amway, he or she should be tough eh? To know more, visit http://networkmarketingsecrets.org.
