The Best Air Purifier for All-Round Performance
The IQAir HealthPro is bit on the expensive side but if someone in your family has a severe problem of allergies this is the air purifier to go for. In fact during the SARS outbreak, this was the only purifier approved by the Honk Kong Hospital Authority to be powerful enough to keep the rooms clean. It has an effective capacity of 900 sq. ft. and uses a patented HyperHEPA filter. It also comes with a filter change indicator and a five year warranty.
Car air purifiers can help you get rid of all the pollutants inside your vehicle. What it does is it kind of floods the interiors of the vehicle with negative ions. The negative ions in their turn attract pollutants such as pollen, dust, cigarette smoke. It is effective even against the fumes from the exhaust pipe.
Best Value Air Purifier
This honor is bagged by the Alen 350 air cleaner. This doesn't have the capacity of the IQAir HealthPro and is effective over a smaller area of some 400 sq. ft. However, the effectiveness of the Alen 350 is almost at par with the IQAir air cleaner. It also uses a HEPA filter and this works in conjunction with a pre-filter and a carbon filter to deal with odors. Even if IQAir is the best you can get, with Alen 350 you get almost the same thing at a much lower price. And it also comes with a lifetime warranty provided filters are changed regularly.
Best Air Purifier for Smaller Rooms
If you are planning to get an air purifier for a smaller room the best you can get is the Whirlpool 45030 air purifier. Overall it is a pretty decent air purifier but it is most effective when it is placed in a smaller room (less than 500 sq. ft.). It also has a HEPA filter technology and comes with filter replacement indicator light. It is not as effective the Alen 350 but if you don't have severe problems with allergens this model is good enough.
