Domestic Crime Can Rob You Blind

When people think of crime, they think of it on the streets, not in the home. The British Crime Surveys (BSC) are reporting that 1 of 20 crimes are in the household. Domestic crime is different than in the classical sense. It may involve a live-in roommate, or boyfriend/girlfriend taking advantage of you in a monetary situation by use of your laptop computer. Many people do not think of letting a friend or new suitor borrow their laptop to check their own email, only to have the person infiltrate your personal emails, passwords, bank account information and more. If the abuser has access to your computer password, or even access to your computer, there are several things you need to do. * Change computer passwords and keep them confidential to avoid allowing access to personal bank account information, emails, and personal identity information. * Keep any personal information, including computer passwords in a personal safe security system, unknown to anybody in your household. This may involve installing personal safe security services to keep your currency, valuables, computer passwords, pin numbers to bank accounts and credit cards, and even your laptop secure. If you own a business that handles currency, then you may have passwords attached. You need to be sure any suitor you have taken into your home does not have access to any information on access to those items, as well. A floor safe for documents, computer data storage and emergency currency is suggested. There are many options for safe entry available, whether they are keyed or electronic digital keypad and varying degrees of currency sizes and time ratings- that is the time delay required to compromise the safe door, by tampering with tools or experimenting with combinations. Even when dating, and taking a person into your home, you do not know if they have a motive for finding out if you have any currency they can access without your knowledge. You never can tell who you meet that may have ill-intentions by telling your combination to any outside parties. But you have many options, as you can change the door-lock combination on your personal and business safes, without telling anyone, anytime you desire. It is wise to routinely change combinations for security purposes. You should always be sure to secure your laptop with any correspondence or emails containing your passwords. Many people think visitors in their home may just be asking to borrow the computer to check their emails, when in fact, they are setting you up to steal whatever financial information they can get their hands on. Never loan your laptop, and don't necessarily trust somebody that has moved in with you or living in the same household to keep your personal information safe. Domestic crime is taking on a new meaning with the laptop age. The best advice for keeping your life safe is by installing a personal safe security system to store your passwords, currency, personal identity information and even your laptop and never use your computer to store the information in the event it is stolen or comprised in a "domestic" crime.
