I have been looking into creams for getting rid of dry skin, and have I got to tell you how surprised I am at the results! You would think that treating dry skin would be a simple and easy process - and it should be - but there are so many products on the market that simply don't provide what I need. In fact, some are outright dangerous!
My search began when I decided that I would like to try out some natural topical creams for dry skin, to help treat my chronic problem of dry, irritated skin. Since so many products on the market claim to offer natural solutions to skin problems, I thought I was in for a walk in the park.
Wow, was I wrong! As it turns out, there is a lot more to a product then whether it claims to have "natural" ingredients in it or not. Listen to this: A large percentage of creams for getting rid of dry skin that claim to contain natural ingredients do not contain enough of them to show any difference on your skin! I know how hard that is to believe, so consider this: when a product advertises that it "contains" something, all that means is that there is enough of that ingredient in it for them to mention it...but there is nothing that states that these companies have to actually use these natural ingredients to treat your skin!
Well, let me tell you...I'm no scientist, but I sure know when I'm being hoodwinked! I am interested in natural topical creams for dry skin not because of some whim, but because of how dangerous unnatural chemical products can be when exposed to the body...especially in skin care products! Think about this: Your pores can absorb an immense amount of liquid, so when you are applying skin cream, you are effectively taking into your body whatever it contains! That can be find if the skin cream is harmless, or even beneficial...but any nasty chemical traces will absorb into your body, and sometimes stay there, or build up over time!
So creams for getting rid of dry skin that contain these unnatural chemicals aren't just ripping you off...they may be actively hurting you. Many contain parabens, cheap chemical compounds found in all sorts of products that have been linked to the trigger of several types of cancer. This is something you definitely don't want to come close to, yet tons of skin care companies use them anyway!
Thank goodness that I found the Compact for Safe Cosmetics. This is where cosmetics companies whose products meet or exceed current EU formulation standards are encouraged to sign the Compact for Safe Cosmetics. ONLY cosmetics companies who manufacture their own line of products can sign the Compact.
I was able to find creams for getting rid of dry skin that had signed on to swear off of parabens and other nasty chemicals. The product you want is out there...it may just take some digging around to find!
