Also, you may need to close accounts that have been inactive for a while as they can work against your report. Furthermore, strive to pay all your bills promptly before their due dates. Late bills or bills with outstanding balances can dramatically affect your credit report and cost you much more money than the bill itself. If you have any bills with a balance, be sure to pay at least the minimum required payment. Paying less than the minimum on any bill will show up the same as if you were to pay the bill late.
