The band's upcoming greatest hits "Unleashed" tour kicks off on March 1 in Pittsburgh and will run through May, coming to several towns throughout the nation. Nicks, Mick Fleetwood, Lindsey Buckingham and John McVie will make their way across the nation from West Coast to East Coast, now planning on making stops for Fleetwood Mac's "Unleashed" tour in Chicago, IL; Toronto, ON; Philadelphia, PA; Cleveland, OH; Columbus, OH; Orlando, FL; Tampa, FL; Ft. Lauderdale, FL; Charlotte, NC; Greensboro, SC; Atlanta, GA; Dallas, TX; Houston, TX; Tulsa, OK; St. Louis, MO; Omaha, NE; Kansas City, MO; Denver, CO; Calgary, AL; Edmonton, AL; Vancouver, BC; Tacoma, WA; Sacramento, CA; Oakland, CA; San Jose, CA; Anaheim, CA; Phoenix, AZ; Los Angeles, CA; Las Vegas, NV; and San Diego, CA. Fleetwood Mac is a timeless band that has lasted through the ages, bringing young and old fans together at concerts to celebrate the phenomenal music and career of the London-based soft rock band. Fleetwood Mac started as a neo-psychedelic blues-rock band in the late 1960s, formed by John McVie, Peter Green and Mick Fleetwood out of the ashes of the legendary British blues group the Bluesbreakers. After getting Jeremy Spencer onboard, Fleetwood Mac scored a record deal with Blue Horizon and released the debut album Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac in 1968. The album came out of left field and was a surprising hit in the U.K., landing the number four slot on the British charts while propelled by singles "Shake Your Moneymaker," "The World Keep on Turning" and "My Heart Beat Like a Hammer." Fleetwood Mac relocated to California in the ‘70s after picking up pianist/songwriter Christine McVie, thereafter discovering the dynamic duo of Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks and eventually recruiting them to join the band. Buckingham and Nicks led the way for the band to steer more into pop-oriented music, and Fleetwood Mac quickly became known for Nicks' signature husky voice. 1975's Fleetwood Mac became a huge hit worldwide in 1975, capitalizing upon the band's new frontwoman in the form of hit singles "Over My Head," "Rhiannon" and "Say You Love Me," which led the album to more than five million copies sold and a number one position on the pop charts. Despite lovers quarrels following the release of Fleetwood Mac (Buckingham and Nicks broke up and the McVies divorced) the band managed to release its biggest hit to date with 1977's Rumors, which spawned the Top 10 singles "Go Your Own Way," "Dreams," "Don't Stop" and "You Make Loving Fun." Rumors set Fleetwood Mac up as one of the biggest groups of the entire 1970s, selling more than 17 million copies while also leading to 1979's Tusk, which featured smash singles "Sara" and "Tusk." Fleetwood Mac embarked upon several exhausting tour dates following this success in the late ‘70s, but things started to change for the band in the ‘80s, when Nicks, Buckingham and Christine McVie all blossomed into solo artists. Buckingham eventually left the band in 1987, and by the ‘90s Fleetwood Mac was all but collapsing. The band continued playing some tour dates together, laying low for most of the decade while band members entered and exited the band in unexpected patterns. 2003's Say You Will was Fleetwood Mac's first studio album to be released in 15 years, and despite the departure of Christine McVie from the band, Mac once again became a dominant force on the soft rock scene. The band now consists of Stevie Nicks, Mick Fleetwood, Lindsey Buckingham and John McVie, and the surviving Fleetwood Mac is back, ready to prove its omnipresence on the music scene by embarking upon a new phase in members' careers, tackling the band's current greatest hits "Unleashed" tour.
