Carrie Underwood Tickets - People’s Choice Favorite

Country music princess Carrie Underwood was voted the season four winner of American Idol after fans fell under a spell to the singer’s overwhelming charm and serenading vocals, and America has once again shown its loyalty to Underwood by voting her a three-time winner at this week’s People’s Choice Awards in Los Angeles. Carrie Underwood was chosen as the winner for Favorite Female Singer in All Genres, Favorite Country Song (for “Last Name”) and Favorite Star Under 35, beating out other top notch music acts like Taylor Swift, Rascal Flatts, Alicia Keys, Kanye West and Rihanna, among others. Along with The Dark Knight, Carrie Underwood was the big winner at the 35th annual People’s Choice Awards. The American Idol alum was also one of the night’s most celebrated performers, proving her importance with not one but three different glowing outfits, switching from a sleek paisley number to a green flowy dress to a short electric orange piece, all in the span of a few hours. While not as flashy, The Dark Night also came away with multiple People’s Choice Awards, winning five trophies for Favorite Cast, Favorite Superhero, Favorite Action Movie, Favorite On-Screen Match Up (for Christian Bale and Heath Ledger’s characters) and Favorite Movie. The Underwood/Dark Knight combo led the music/film domination at the awards show, and Carrie Underwood’s success is little from over. Carrie Underwood has been a fan favorite ever since she stepped into the spotlight with her golden hair and stunning voice, growing up performing at local festivals and events around her hometown of Muskogee, Oklahoma. After high school, Underwood attended Northeastern State College with the intent of going into broadcast journalism, but she put that life on hold just credits short of graduating for the chance to appear on the 2005 season of American Idol. Wooing the nation with her charisma and outstanding vocal abilities, Underwood won the crown of the Season Five American Idol contest and instantly got picked up in the whirlwind of Nashville, releasing her debut country single “Jesus, Take the Wheel” in 2005. Some Hearts, Underwood’s first album, sold more than 300,000 copies in its first week of release, leading the way for Carrie Underwood to waltz right into the spotlight as a pop-tinged country music singer. Aside from being named People for the PETA’s (Ethical Treatment of Animals) World’s Sexiest Vegetarian in 2005, Underwood also got busy with her next string of singles, including the man-eating song “Before He Cheats,” which flew to number one on the charts. The awards started flowing in from here, and Carrie Underwood has since breezed through the mid-2000s with dozens of awards including several Billboard Music Awards, CMT Awards, Grammys, ACM Awards and, now, People’s Choice Awards. The American Idol sweetheart has most recently released her sophomore album and second straight number one charting release Carnival Ride in 2007, and she’s since embarked upon several live performances and concert dates.
