One can find assistance in sample letters since they serve as guides in assembling a cover letter with high value. Though, there are a few risks in doing this.
Probably, you have been sending several of your resumes to different companies already, but if you haven't gotten any job interviews yet, you really have to wonder why.
Especially, if you know for yourself that you have the necessary education and a qualified employment experience.
Have you ever doubted that it might be an effect of your cover letter which you submitted along with your resume?
Several job seekers nowadays still believe that it is just alright to copy and paste an effortless cover letter, and then just insert their name. Wrong.
If you are the one who does this, then you shouldn't have to wonder why, for the type and quality of your cover letter performs a great effect in your possible employment. Both positive and negative results.
It is true that there are proliferating samples of cover letter in any sites in the internet. Yet, it is not advisable that you just copy it and take it as your own by just changing its name and address, there are still a few things that you have to consider in doing this.
Keep in mind first the purpose of the sample letters. Mainly, this only provides you with the idea to come up with your own. If you would just copy a cover letter from the internet, you are depriving yourself to highlight the strong points you have.
Consider the canned goods, a sample cover letter with your name and address inserted on it will make it look like one-a canned letter. Your potential employer can eventually determine the cut and pasted portion in your cover letter, and this, often times, ends up in the trash can rather than a call for an interview.
Remember, in a resume you are deprived with the opportunity to give your employer a hint of your personality, what you have there is only your educational background and working experience. And in today's time, almost everyone shares the same employment background and credentials. They only vary in personality, work ethic, and enthusiasm for the job.
So, before the interview, your personality's chance to be unveiled to your employer is only through your cover letter. So if you will trust yourself with those already made cover letters, you also deprive your employer the idea of knowing your personality, much more, whether how you vary from the other applicants competing for the job.
Worst of all, if your potential employer notices that the cover you sent their company was only copy pasted from the internet, this will only give an impression that you are lazy ands doesn't have the right abilities for the job.
Surely, you have never heard yet an employer who would want to hire a lazy employee, and the one who do possess his own idea.
Put it this way, your sample letter is there to provide you with a good foundation in coming up with your own one. Make sure that you own the wordings contained in your letter.
Treat it like a recipe; it will give you the right guide in writing, however, the remaining ingredients is yours to fill in.
