If you run a retail establishment, you probably have some questions about register paper. What are the different types? What sizes do they come in? How much do they cost? And so on. In an effort to answer your register paper questions, a list of frequently asked questions has been created. Hopefully, you can find the answer to your question below. • What's the difference between thermal paper and other register paper? The difference between thermal paper and other receipt is that information is printed onto thermal paper by heat transfer. Other receipts are simply printed on with normal ink or a stamp. • How does a thermal printer work? Thermal printers are dependent upon heat. Here's how it works: certain pixels on the printer head are heated up based upon the word or image to be printed. The heated printer head then presses into the back of the printer ribbon. As a result, the waxy, ink-like substance then melts onto the thermal paper. Obviously, this happens instantaneously as printing is a quick process. The main benefit of thermal printers is that you never have to buy ink or rollers. They're very cost-effective. • What sizes do register paper normally come in? Receipt rolls come in a wide range of widths and lengths. Typical widths range from 1 ½" to 4 9/32". Of course, larger and smaller sizes can be found or made by request, but these are the most common sizes. The length of the roll determines how many receipts you'll be able to print. If you want to order a really long roll, make sure your printer is big enough to store it. • Is all register paper the same? Absolutely not. Not only are there different types of register paper (thermal, single ply, 2-ply, etc.), but there are also different levels of quality of paper. You should always make sure the register rolls you order are 100% American made and premium quality. Low quality paper can leave behind residue and damage your printer over time. • Can I put my company's logo and return policy on my receipts? Yes, depending on which company you order your receipt paper from. The best paper companies allow you to customize the back of your receipts by adding your logo, return policy, or even coupons. This is helpful in branding and keeping customers satisfied and coming back. • How much does register paper cost? There is no simple answer to this question. Price varies depending on the type, quantity, and quality of the receipt paper you order. However, there are several things you can do to make certain you get a good deal. First, be sure to order your products from a reputable company that offers a money-back guarantee. Second, consider ordering in bulk as this often earns you a significant discount. Lastly, keep your eyes open for special seasonal sales where you can save big off the normal retail price. Hopefully, this answered any questions you had, and now, you'll be able to make a sound, informed decision when ordering register paper.
