• What's the difference between thermal paper and other register paper? The difference between thermal paper and other receipt is that information is printed onto thermal paper by heat transfer. Other receipts are simply printed on with normal ink or a stamp.
• How does a thermal printer work? Thermal printers are dependent upon heat. Here's how it works: certain pixels on the printer head are heated up based upon the word or image to be printed. The heated printer head then presses into the back of the printer ribbon. As a result, the waxy, ink-like substance then melts onto the thermal paper. • Is all register paper the same? Absolutely not. Not only are there different types of register paper (thermal, single ply, 2-ply, etc.), but there are also different levels of quality of paper. • How much does register paper cost? There is no simple answer to this question. Price varies depending on the type, quantity, and quality of the receipt paper you order.
