With the increase in popularity of acquiring a career as a pharmacist, landing the best pharmacy job can be a very competitive experience. When one applies for a job as a pharmacist, they must undertake a job interview. A pharmacy job candidate must adequately prepare for a job interview so he or she can gain a competitive edge over the other candidates. When one goes into a job interview, being properly prepared will make the difference between getting the job, and not getting the job. The following is a list of helpful tips to help a candidate prepare for a pharmacy job interview: 1. Whether you are applying for a pharmacy job, you should learn as much as you can about the employer. You can research the company on the internet to learn about the company's background and vision. Such aspects to look for include: the company's average yearly revenue, number of employees, any specialty areas, mission and vision of the company, and management and staff. Make sure you note any of your strengths, experience, and education that match the company's goals. It is also important to learn as much as you can about the position of which you are applying. 2. Researching and writing questions are an important part of preparing for a pharmacy job interview. You create questions that an employer will likely ask and then rehearse answering the questions. These questions should be specific to the job position as well about you and your experiences, qualifications, and education. Rehearsing the answers will help you fine tune such techniques as your speech pattern, language used, and how you present details. Make sure you create questions that draw on your past experiences. You can record your answers and then listen to them for any mistakes. Another question area you should prepare for is creating your own questions. The interviewer will likely ask if you have any questions. Make sure your questions are intelligent and relevant to the company and position. 3. One area that you will be asked about is your strengths and weaknesses. Make sure you are aware of your strengths and are able to discuss them in a way that is relevant to the pharmacist job position. You also do not want to look arrogant when you detail your strengths. When discussing your weaknesses, describe weaknesses you have had in the past and how you overcame them. Make sure you include examples of your strengths and weaknesses. You have to show why you are the perfect candidate for the pharmacy job and why you would be a valuable employee. 4. Creating a list of your accomplishments is essential when preparing for a pharmacy job interview. You have to be able to show how you have made a positive impact in an area of work, school, or volunteer experience. Describe how you achieved the accomplishments. You should also emphasize that you can work independently and with a team. Highlight any awards or certificates you have achieved. When you are being interviewed for a pharmacy job, you have to show the interviewer that you are professional, intelligent, competent, and have the necessary skills and qualifications to be a valued employee. Research and preparation are key components to landing a career as a pharmacist.

While a pharmacist job position can be fairly fulfilling, it is also quite competitive to obtain pharmacy jobs. In order to be one of the outstanding candidates for the pharmacist jobs, you not only need the qualifications, but also the passion.
