Often people wonder why we have dreams and whether or not they really mean anything significant and chances are you will hear all kinds of responses to the question. What does it mean when you falling in a dream? What does it mean when your dream takes place in your own home or apartment? What does it mean when you fly in your dreams? These are all questions that we will look at here and try to come up with a few ideas as to what such dreams could mean.
The first common dream we'll take a look at is the dream of falling. Many, many people experience this type of dream and I am sure we have all heard different interpretations of it. Although a dream of falling can have some significance it often means nothing at all but rather is a reaction your body has as your drifting off(or falling) to sleep. In some cases though a dream such as this can signify a personal sense of failure in some aspect of one's life. Sleeping with the feet against the wall or with a pillow or other object touching the soles of the feet may give a sense of security that may prevent this reaction from occurring.
The next common type of dream that people often wonder about is the dream of flying. Dreams of flying can mean a number of different things and often the meaning will vary from culture to culture. The different meanings also have to do with how you felt during such a dream. Those that feel happy during such a dream may have recently overcome a recent hurdle in their life. Those that feel frightened during such a dream may be so die to a specific fear they have such as a fear of heights. And some cultures believe that such a dream is due to a certain attunement an individual has with their spiritual side. After having a dream about flying one should consider these different possibilities.
Finally, another common dream that people experience are those concerning their own death as well as the death of a loved one. In many cases dreams about one's own death are simply a way for the mind to come to terms with one's own mortality. Although it has often been said that if you die in your dream you will die in real life this is not the case. A dream in which a loved one dies may mean that your worried about their death but may also signify that person leaving home or that person ridding themselves of a trait that was disliked. One thing is for sure, though, a dream concerning death is not some sort of premonition attempting to foretell the future.
Now that you have an idea what some of the more common types of dreams can possible mean it may not be so frightening next time you experience such a dream. There are a number of other common dreams but understanding these ones can start you on the path of interpreting all of your dreams.
